Patience Paying Off For Vance Entering Lime Rock Park

STOUFFVILLE, Ontario (May 21, 2014)- James Vance will confidently go where he has
never gone before, Lime Rock Park for Round 4 of the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge.

Vance will attempt to pull another classic charge by advancing through the field on the 1.5-mile course, hoping it pays off with his first podium finish. During the Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix on May 3 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Vance maneuvered his car from his 22nd starting position to second place before teammate Jon Miller faced an incident on track, landing the team in 21st.

With one race under his belt in his No. 74 Compass360 Racing Honda Civic Si, Vance feels comfortable with his new teammates and has conquered the challenges of racing with front-wheel drive.

Vance has turned no laps in testing since the race earlier this month in Northern California, but he remains undaunted with the challenge ahead in his BIONIC Environments-sponsored machine.

"I've driver-coached at Lime Rock, but I've never raced there myself," Vance said. "I'll add another new track to the resume. Lime Rock is more like Kansas and Road Atlanta. I think it will suit our car a lot better than Mazda Raceway, which had a lot of slow, technical turns.

"As far as my driving goes, I've done a lot of simulator work for Lime Rock. I think I have the car figured out. It's really all about patience. At Mazda Raceway, I didn't rush anything. It's a process of learning intricacies and being patient and not stressing out."

The Northeast Grand Prix weekend begins with practice at 10:45 a.m. (ET) Friday, May 23. The green flag will drop over the Street Tuner class at 9:10 a.m. Saturday, May 24 for the 150-minute race. The race will be part one of two races, as the SportsCar Challenge field will be split by category to create a double-header weekend.
